And so. How time flies. im home-ridden today. Sore throat and im coming down with a flu. Also general fatigue from the lack of sleep the past week. Gonna miss the first day of CS FOC today. it'll be just me and the tv today, as i work through The OC dvds bevan dropped off. YAY. ive got the entire season 1 and half of season 2 with me hahaa.
The past week has been..interesting. Many happy high moments, but also a few sad ones. but im done brooding. ive decided to surrender the situation to God, and despite having the peace and knowing that ive made the right choice, it still saddens me. i suppose im not completely ready for closure yet, but im thankful that circumstances have made it easier for me to make that inevitable decision. i dare say i dont regret all that's happened, but perhaps i could have made things less complicated. Done certain things differently. hahaa i realise ive just contradicted myself, but i dont expect any of this to make sense at first read so ive given up trying to sound coherent. heh.
Ed Silvolso conference during the weekend was really good. Am excited to be a marketplace minister!:)
Had my first electric guitar lesson with daniel. hahaa its just too time-consuming to learn on my own. Hadnt touched my baby in awhile cuz my amp is spoilt. Speaking of which, i want to get a roland micro-cube amp!Any good deals on it please let me know.i cant believe i missed the sweelee sale this year, where i couldve gotten it at halfprice sigh. Oh and the basement of peninsular plaza has soo many guitar shops!
Daniel made this remark about how he had never seen a female lead guitarist soloiing on the electric before. i was about to retort in indignation when i realised that ive never seen one myself either! Acoustic guitarists yes, but no female lead guitarist. Correct me if im wrong, but i guess guys are more inclined to play the electric cuz there are so many technical aspects to it. All the gadgets from pedals to distortion amps, cables, and even the instrument itself. Its amazing how many different sounds can be generated from one instrument. guys also tend to spend more money on gadgets. We girls spend our cash on..other things. heh. im already very pained at the thought of having to spend 100 over dollars for my amp, but its a necessary investment. Am really stoked and looking forward to more lessons soon:)
Started work with SOMA (School of music and the arts) to assist an instructor to teach guitar. Had my first job last friday assisting Yus at ngee ann primary school. Man kids are so lucky nowadays. In primary school i only got to learn the recorder. Now schools are hiring instructors to come over to teach things like vocal training, song-writing, guitar, keyboard. And the school actually bought 40 over guitars for the kids to play during music lesson. Handling a class of 42 kids is no joke. Furthermore, Yus and i were told not to scold the kids, so unless their form teacher reprimands them, we can't really scream at them even when theyre really asking for it! hahaa not a kids person as you can tell. but sometimes as yokeyong said, the kids can do things that really make your day. There was this adorable little boy who came up to me after class ended just to thank me personally. And its kinda rewarding when you see the look on the kids' faces when they hold a guitar for the first time.
alright. quite a lengthy post to make up for the infrequent updates. i dont mind sleeping for another gazillion hours.
Nothing's quite the same now, i just say your name now.
